Ray of sunshine

I have just decided that for the next 5 days I am going to be happy. I'm going to be so sickeningly cheerful, so annoyingly positive that my cheeks will actually ache from smiling. I am determined to be in a continuous state of felicity and good humor... and woe to anyone who attempts to disturb my euphoria!

I knew things were a little TOO perfect.

Just got word that there has been a "potential security compromise" to my check card, and that they will send me a new one within 20 days. My old card will be no good by 3/26.

Nice.

In less than a week I leave for Europe, and unless the new card arrives by Saturday, I will be in France when the old one stops working. (Insert string of profanities here)

There is hope. I'm thinking back to my first trip to Disney World when an ATM ate my card less than a week before I was supposed to leave. They were able to get me a new one in time. So I will cross my fingers and say the credit union prayer. "Dear St. Co-Op, patron saint of credit union members, please grant safe and speedy passage to my new debit card. And bless the FedEx man who delivers it to me by no later than Saturday afternoon."

The Final Countdown

This is it. The countdown is down to 12 days. Today I was nervous and excited. Lizzie sent the itinerary over and I couldn't believe that I would be seeing these things before the end of the month!

Gayken will be watching Scout while I'm gone. I'm not thrilled, but we'll see if she comes back sassy and annoying! If so, she'll learn how not be a brat... and quickly!

Grumpy Bugger

Today I am grumpy. I have no idea why. I must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed or something. My co-worker told me to go and get some lunch and coffee for us. It helped to be out in the fresh air. Also... the sandwiches we got were delicious!

I wanted to say a special thanks to a particularly nerdy individual who shall remain anonymous in this blog. Let's call him Peter Parker. You've cheered me up greatly with all things nerdy and musical. So, thanks Peter. You're aces in my book. Also, I insist that you don't cheat on me with other women who share your same interests in television shows. I should be you only theor-ess. As you are my only theorer. ;)
